Great day for a run...
This morning was lovely....slightly cool with a pleasant breeze. Our track was filled with happy and excited students as they participated in the first morning run of the year. We had around 150 3rd-5th students run, walk, and jog. Beginning at 7:15 and ending at 7:50, students were able to participate after they arrived at school.
This morning we had close to 150 students complete 199 miles. Not only did they receive great physical benefits, but these students were also preparing their body and minds for learning.
Our next morning run will be on October 20th. This run will be for our 1st and 2nd grade students and on October 27th will have another run for our 3rd-5th graders.

It's truly impressive to see so many students actively participating in the morning run, especially achieving a collective distance of 199 miles! This initiative not only fosters a love for physical activity but also helps set a positive mood for learning throughout the day. I remember similar programs from my childhood that made a significant impact on our focus in class. It could be exciting to see this event evolve into a community gathering, perhaps involving parents and local residents in future runs. By the way, I've been exploring creative ways to document such events visually; you can find some fun ideas at Significant Figures Calculator.

What a great way to start the school day! Seeing 150 students show up early to run and walk is truly inspiring. This is such a smart way to get them energized and ready to learn. For sharing this kind of school spirit, I'd definitely print out a big poster of the event photos using rasterbator to hang in the hallway—it's perfect for classroom projects and wall art!
